The iQ Platform unifies all of the Mitsubishi Electric automation disciplines into a one-of-a-kind modular Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The iQ Platform is the only PAC capable of integrating individual Sequence, Motion, CNC, and Robot control onto a single back-plane rack. Based on the multi-CPU architecture of the renowned Q Series Automation Platform, the key to this multi-discipline functionality is the CPU-only data bus on all Q3*DB base units. This secondary bus facilitates a large high-speed shared memory area between up to 4 CPUs, each controlling different aspects of the automation system. Each CPU then shares its working data at an almost instantaneous refresh rate between all CPUs in the configuration. This design makes the iQ Platform ideal for multi-discipline systems.
QD Motion CPU
The iQ Platform unifies four key fields of automation, one being servo motion. The iQ Motion CPUs combined with MR-J3 servos deliver the highest level of speed and precision with tight integration to interdisciplinary automation control. Exploiting the high-speed inter-CPU communication bus, servo movement can be scattered seamlessly throughout Sequence, Robot, and CNC operations.
The MR-J4 series servo systems have been designed around four key future-embracing, past-revering, and user-centric concepts. These concepts are 'Machine', 'Human', 'Ecology' and 'Heritage'. With 17 core type (liquid cooled) models ranging from 60N to 18000N and 9 coreless types in the range of 50N to 3200N, our linear servo technology offers high power density in a compact package, improved heat dissipation, and extremely smooth motion. Designed for easy-of-use, our motors seamlessly integrate with our MR-J3-RJ004 type amplifiers allowing for seamless start up and faster project development as well as a "Robust Disturbance compensation function" that suppresses offset disturbances that cause uneven speeds.
