The iQ Platform unifies all of the Mitsubishi Electric automation disciplines into a one-of-a-kind modular Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The iQ Platform is the only PAC capable of integrating individual Sequence, Motion, CNC, and Robot control onto a single back-plane rack. Based on the multi-CPU architecture of the renowned Q Series Automation Platform, the key to this multi-discipline functionality is the CPU-only data bus on all Q3*DB base units. This secondary bus facilitates a large high-speed shared memory area between up to 4 CPUs, each controlling different aspects of the automation system. Each CPU then shares its working data at an almost instantaneous refresh rate between all CPUs in the configuration. This design makes the iQ Platform ideal for multi-discipline systems.
QD75 Positioning Module
For applications not needing the advanced features of a motion controller, the QD75 single-slot modules offer the flexibility to include or add motion to Q series control platforms. Features include linear and circular interpolation as well as multi-axis point-to-point commands. The QD75 modules are capable of 1,2, or 4 axis of control. The QD75-M type modules add the functionality and convenience of Mitsubishi's high-performance Servo System Control Network (SSCNET). All of the QD75 modules are supported by easy to use Windows based programming packages.

Unique to GT16 and GT15 Series are an assortment of embedded maintenance functions to improve uptime and operations. Terminals range from 15 inch down to 8.4 inch and are available in a wide range of resolutions (XGA, SVGA and VGA). Common hardware features for the GT16 include an enhanced CPU and graphics engine, integrated communication ports (RS232/RS422/Ethernet) and power supply, front mounted dual USB ports (USB host/device), compact flash and options slots and 15MB of onboard flash memory as standard.
